Rolls-Royce Phantom VII Carbon-Ceramic Brake Development Review

Development-only carbon-ceramic brake feasibility review for Rolls-Royce Phantom VII sedan, Coupé and Drophead, with every dimension approximate and body-style evidence required.

  • Development review only
  • VIN and vehicle evidence
  • No automatic production release

This page records feasibility references only. It does not represent an approved production kit, SKU, installation proof or performance claim.

Vehicle coverage

Generations remain technically separate

Choose the correct generation first. The vehicle record controls which dimensions and brake architecture can move into engineering review.

Phantom VII sedan

Approximate specification — VIN verification required
Chassis / series
RR01 / RR02 reference · confirm from VIN
Production
2003–2017 working coverage
Generation
Series I and Series II must be recorded

Phantom VII Coupé and Drophead

Approximate specification — VIN verification required
Chassis / series
Body-style record required
Production
2008–2016 working coverage
Generation
Coupé and Drophead remain separate vehicle files

Every dimension remains approximate. Series, wheelbase, production date and installed brakes must be captured before feasibility is assessed. VIN, production month, factory brakes, wheel clearance and rear functions are reviewed once in the engineering step below.

Front and rear specification

The useful dimensions in one place

Working references help select a pathway. Final geometry is released only against the approved vehicle record.

Front axle

Approximate specification — VIN verification required
OEM-size working reference
Approx. 374 × 36 mm
Development target
Approx. 420 × 40 mm development target
Caliper approach
Approx. forged 10-piston concept; hydraulic relationship undeveloped
Wheel requirement
Wheel scan or physical template required
Evidence boundary
VIN, body style, OE numbers, measured geometry, photographs and wheel scan

Rear axle

Approximate specification — VIN verification required
OEM-size working reference
Approx. 370 × 24 mm
Development target
Approx. 410 × 32 mm development target
Caliper approach
Approx. forged 4-piston concept; retained functions undeveloped
Rear EPB
Exact arrangement and retained operation must be confirmed
Evidence boundary
VIN, body style, rear-brake measurements, photographs and parking-brake record

One feasibility and development process

All compatibility and validation questions are handled here once. The written decision determines whether development can proceed.

  1. 01

    Vehicle record

Receive the VIN and confirm the exact Phantom VII generation or body style, production month and regional specification.

  2. 02

    Brake and wheel evidence

Record the current OE rotor, caliper, pad and rear-brake arrangement. Check spoke and barrel clearance using measurements and the supplied template.

  3. 03

    System review

Verify rear electronic parking-brake integration and retained functions. Define prototype, instrumentation, regenerative-braking coordination where applicable and road-validation requirements.

  4. 04

    Written specification

Issue a written feasibility decision; production remains unavailable until a separate engineering release.

Phantom VII-specific FAQs

Questions to resolve before development

Six focused answers keep feasibility references separate from an approved production application.

Is this an approved Phantom VII brake kit?

No. This is a development and feasibility route only. It does not represent a production SKU, approved fitment, installation record or performance claim.

Can sedan data be used for the Coupé or Drophead?

No. The body styles stay separate. Each requires its own VIN, production record, brake geometry, wheel information and retained-function review.

Are the listed Phantom VII dimensions final?

No. Every dimension is an approximate feasibility reference. No rotor, bell, caliper, bracket or hydraulic specification is released without the exact vehicle evidence and a completed development review.

Why is the VIN required?

The VIN helps identify production timing and vehicle specification, but it is reviewed with OE brake references, photographs and wheel measurements rather than used as the only fitment check.

Can the factory calipers be retained?

Only when the approved rotor geometry, pad sweep, hydraulic relationship and caliper condition all pass the engineering review.

Are larger wheels required?

That depends on the approved rotor and caliper envelope. Any larger package requires a wheel-barrel and spoke-clearance template before production.
